Fashion on the Playa
Welcome to Playa Ruffles!
I’m super excited to curate this special blog about Playa Fashions. This blog was created to push the boudaries of Playa Wear, so we don’t get cemented into the Burning Man aesthetic but, instead, push the boundaries of costumes and provide a refreshing look to the man.
Why costumes?
Costumes are the wearable, artistic contribution that you bring to the playa. They help to create and sustain the Maya of the locale, and they spread the magic that people return for every year. The clothes are burned into our memories, our experiences, and our Playa Identities.
They’re also a little old. When you can buy Burner aesthetics at the mall, you know it’s time to shake things up.
We’ll be looking at other fashions around the world, at craft techniques, and sharing our own projects here on this blog. Please feel free to share your ideas, your projects, your solutions, and your love!
